HELP FOR THE NOMINATOR
International Women's Day is being celebrated in Bakersfield at the Seven Oaks Country Club on Tuesday March 8, 2011. The event is being planned by a consortium of representatives from various organizations listed below that are serving immigrants and naturalized citizens. We will be honoring foreign-born women who have made significant contributions to our region in the categories of Arts/Entertainment, Business/Finance, Community Service, Education, Health Services, Law/Government, Media, or Sciences.
I ask you to consider nominating foreign-born women who deserve to be honored in one or more of the recognized categories and also pass the attached nomination form on to colleagues who may want to nominate someone. The ideal nominee makes important contributions within her profession, but also is serviceoriented and has stepped forward to contribute to the community at large.
The Nomination Form is attached for your convenient duplication. Also, please forward the Form to people who may be in a good position to nominate someone. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this nomination or have any suggestions regarding more wide distribution of this nomination. We look forward to hearing from you.
